Graciela Uriegas was born in Mexico City, where she studied and established herself in theater, film, and TV as an actress and model.
Her passion for mix-media art, ceramic, and photography was always present. Starting in 2012, she has studied at different institutions such as the International Center of Photography ICP (New York, USA, 2012, 2013, 2014,2018); the Estudio Urquiza workshop (CDMX, 2012 to 2014); the School of Photography of Havana (Cuba, 2014) and the Active School of Photography (CDMX, 2014 to 2017).
Her work as a photographer has been shown in a dozen collective exhibitions like CDMX: “No name” at the Rufino Tamayo Museum Shop. (CDMX, 2016), “District” Immagini Gallery (CDMX, 2015). La Galería Candela (CDMX, 2017), an author’s book that was part of the Mexico Photo Festival (CDMX, 2017, 2019, 2022 ).
She has also participated in national and international performance festivals such as “The Great America,” where she presented “Happy we-ending” (exploring the breakup of a marriage and its ensuing pain) at the Grace Exhibition Space, New York (April 2015).
Recognizing her work, she received first place and an honorable mention awarded by Canon Mexico at the Zoom In the contest in June 2016.
She is studying for Art and Ceramics Degree at Grossmont College in San Diego, California, and won the President Prize award in the Hyde Gallery in the fall of 2022.
